There I was, trying to keep my cool

Scootering through the freezing, windy rain means I arrive at work looking like this:

Eternal Insanity of the Cluttered Mind

I argue that a person can be defined not by the notes she takes, but by the things she feels compelled to write when she is bored in class.

{Nothing has been altered. I really am this weird. Only words in [ ]'s have been added after.}
[under a doodle of my name in cursive] Beautiful. Put this on some cowboy boots.
[under a doodle] not going to front--this is one killer treble clef

[referring to a classmate] crazy Ren Stevens in Cadet Kelly
I think I have BO. This is humiliating.
I cannot be held responsible for my daydreams.
Little Things for Which I'm Grateful: I don't have toe thumbs. [apparently that's all I came up with.]

guy in 292 is such an odd mix of [unnamed person to protect my...dignity?], Wormtail, and Dane Cook.

Oh man. It's 6:00. We have 1 hr 40 min left. I can't stay awake

There are 2 definite crazies in here, possibly more

Colin Farrell is so hot
I'm starting my 6th semester of college. What.
my fingers smell like soup from those SunChips. I'm not complaining. Except it's making me really hungry.

If I passed out, I'd be so embarrassed for people to see my notes [so true...]

What is voyeurism again?

NECESITO IR AL BAÑO y hace mucho tiempo [not sure, in hindsight, if this is correct Spanish.]
I can't even remember what credit I'm fulfilling with this class

Fido--where did this name come from? Why is it a cliché name for dogs?

My Favorite Founding Fathers:
1. George Washington
2. Thomas Jefferson
3. Ben Franklin
4. Alexander Hamilton
5. John Hancock

Hugh Jackman is the epitome of Man. Big, trustworthy, hairy, tan, sweaty, good at fighting, rides horses, scruffy...and yet he has the voice of a chorus angel.
Theses feces

I look so horrible right now. Whatever. I'll go home and shower and turn into Cinderella at the ball
Quotation floatation vocation invocation evocation Croatian rotation

Yep, I'm crazy. I'm not even going to bother pretending that I didn't take this picture with my cell phone while watching 4 episodes of "The Office" in between class and work. Why front?

In the '90s, everyone assumed that Prince William was going to be the hot one. Well, I guess it's only fair: William gets the crown, Harry gets the good face.

Project Greenlight on the Beach

So how delightful is this picture?

It makes me laugh so much that I may set it as my desktop background. All the pure emotions captured here are priceless: Ben's pride that he can stand on a surfboard while still feeling the underlying fear he may fall, Matt's joy and adoration for his best friend...not to mention those hilarious gams.

Doesn't this just make you believe in humanity?

All I Want For Christmas

This movie is going to ROCK

Not exactly the most hardcore of addictions

Today my English 295 professor said, "I have an addictive personality, just waiting for the right addiction to come along." Thus this list came about

  • The Sims--this is not to be taken lightly. It was a compulsion, a need to play that game

  • Spider Solitaire--I would go to bed and see solitaire when I closed my eyes.

  • Facebook--obviously.

  • in 7th grade I was addicted to Minesweeper. I would listen to Barenaked Ladies or Totally Hits 2003 and sweep mines for hours. Does anyone else even play that game?

  • summer between 8th and 9th grade I was addicted to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 on Xbox

  • Harry Potter--a real addiction. This winter I could NOT function without it.

  • this winter I was also addicted to "America's Next Top Model". Best reality show EVER
Apparently I'm a closet gamer; almost all of these are video/computer games. (Even though Minesweeper is the lamest computer game ever, and even I, an admitted addict, know this.)

What a fun sexy time for me

WELL yesterday at a less-than-impromptu dinner party, the subject of one's Perfect Day arose in conversation. Mine would of course consist of Disneyworld, friends, the Clockstoppers watch, the Sims, and London. A highlight of my Perfect Day would also be a party at which everyone I've ever known [and enjoyed the presence of] would be in attendance. However, I'm sure I have friends I haven't met yet, so here is this list:

  • Robert Downey Jr.
  • Tina Fey
  • Demi Lovato
  • Rihanna
  • Stephen Colbert
  • Kevin Bacon, if just so I could creep him out with my superpower
  • Seth Rogen
  • Paul Rudd
  • Donald Faison
  • Zach Braff
  • Ryan Reynolds
  • Jon Hamm
  • Will Arnett
  • Amy Poehler
  • the whole cast of "Seinfeld"
  • the boy I loved my senior year of high school because of his utter hilarity but never spoke to because our paths never really crossed...sighhh...

Best party EVER

I could've used this nine months ago

{from a brochure I picked up near the BYU International Study Program Office}
"[Upon returning from one's study abroad,] Some students return home and slip easily back into their school and family life. Others experience a degree of reverse culture shock, which can even bring depression-like symptoms lasting several days or several months...
Some common [aha! COMMON! There are dozens of us, dozens!!] signs of reverse culture shock are
  • frustration
  • boredom
  • loneliness
  • missing people and places from abroad
  • need for excessive sleep

Don't suppress your feelings, but focus on how you can integrate the old and new you."

27 Palace Court, it's been 361 days since the taxi dropped an exhausted and disbelieving Jordyn off on your doorstep, and I still love everything about you.

...Except all that re-entry emotional crap this winter. But that could've been mostly my fault.

My new life as a receptionist

Don't worry, I won't let all this new power go to my head--the power to answer the three phone calls that came today, power to sort mail, power to eat all the Jolly Ranchers sitting in front of me. No, fame won't change me!

I am now sitting here with nothing to do, though. And if the ever-intriguing Anna Thurston will devote time to one of these survey-fillout-email forward things I used to love to do in middle school, then so will I.

8 Favorite TV Shows:
1. Arrested Development
2. Flight of the Conchords
3. Seinfeld
4. Scrubs

2. Signed up Kim Kardashian, Robert Downey Jr., Zac Efron, Lady Gaga, and Kanye West, among others, for EFY 2010

4. Bought a new cardigan for my new business casual dress code

{this is what came up when I googled "business casual"}

5. Ate some of those brownies we got for free at the Farmers Market
6. Sat (lightly, I swear!) on my bed, only to have it slide off of the cinderblocks holding it up and fall to the ground.
7. Attended FHE with my new ward.
8. Didn't really make new friends at said FHE, just talked to the people I already knew. Sorry.

8 Things I Look Forward To:
1. FOOD I am SO HUNGRY despite all the Jolly Ranchers I've swiped!
2. This week's Entertainment Weekly. If that magazine were a man, he'd be on my List.
3. Eventually getting the hang of this new job. Second day is still a little awkward since I don't know anything yet.
4. Buying new business casual clothes
5. A little dinner party happening hopefully this week, during which love between two unnamed persons will undoubtedly bloom! (I'm not either of the two unnamed persons. Typical.)
6. Potentially going home for Labor Day!
7. Football games!
8. Food again. I canNOT stop thinking about it

8 Favorite Restaurants:
1. Chili's, except that was before this vegetarianism, and their meatless options B L O W
2. Chipotle, preferably the one on Arapahoe back home because that's where Carly and I always see the weirdest kids from high school
3. Pizza Port in San Diego
4. Wagamamas (London)
5. Nandos (")
6. Eat (")
7. Is Coldstone a restaurant?
8. Zesto's. No longer in existence, but still alive in my heart.

8 Things on my Wish List:
1. "30 Rock" DVDs
2. Sturdier bed frame
3. Longer hair
4. Longer legs
5. The ability to roll my R's
6. To go back in time and tell Young Jordyn that the bed-wetting will end; don't lose hope.
7. The Clockstoppers watch
8. For Robert Downey Jr. to follow my blog. This is a WISH list people, so don't judge me

I'm not going to tag 8 people, even though this was secretly fun because I actually enjoy filling out forms. Hey, my shift's over!
