Hit me baby one more time

Today I have been reflecting on the past.

My Childhood Celebrity Crushes

Lee Thompson Young
Jett Jackson: making Zoog Disney steamy hot (and diverse!) between the years 1998 and 2001.

Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro (and then later in Spy Kids)
I saw Zorro when I was nine years old, and I loved it so much that I wrote about Señor Banderas in my journal. IN MY JOURNAL. Like a crazy person.

Carlos from "The Magic School Bus"
Carlos was the class clown whom everyone hated but, I'm assuming, secretly lusted because he was the cutest one there. Plus did you know that the guy who does his voice is in Mean Girls? He's the guy who says, "It only counts if you see nipple." That's only a lot bit depressing.

Eric Matthews from "Boy Meets World"
He was ultra cute in the early seasons! He got fatter and funnier when they went to college (well, who doesn't? Har dee har har).

Derek Jeter
I loooooooved Derek Jeter--I first noticed him during his Mariah Carey phase. He was/is super hot.

Devon Sawa in Little Giants
I think I have talked about this crush before, but he was so cute that it is worth another mention.

Yeah Yeah in Sandlot
Benny was the hottest, but I loved Yeah Yeah! He was precious and said hilarious crap all the time.

JTT
Three letters to describe this three-lettered little stud: D, U, and H

In case that wasn't clear, I was trying to say duh.

That dude from Motocrossed
He was very, very cute. Except why isn't there any kissing at the end?!?!?!

Thank you, '90s-era entertainment, for providing such cute boys for Little Jordyn to obsess over. Besides Antonio Banderas, who is in fact, a grown man.

"Happy Valentine's Day, no one!!"

"30 Rock" is killing me lately.

That is all.

An epic new distraction

I just found the second-best tumblr page of all time (first-best being, obviously, Marin Rowe's): Delightful Disney. Already this morning I have spent like an hour and a half looking at it when I should've been either writing my talk or packing my stuff.

Some of my faves:

So THAT'S what LOL stands for

Yay! A London post! Why aren't the rest of us jumping any higher??

Tonight as I continued my task of packing up all of my crap, I found my 2008-2009 planner, which I bought at a Boots in London! Looking through it was a crazy little trip through time...there were things written in it such as:
  •  "Wild side of the Thames walk write-up due"
  • "one week till RDJ search"
  • "Day Trip to Oxford and Blenheim Palace" (which, of course, was the day Alex fell in the river, see below)
  • "kitchen crew starts :("
There were also some doodles of mermaids and mermen. (They're beautiful drawings, in case you are wondering.)

The best part of the planner, however, is the list of text abbreviations in the front of the book with all the helpful stuff, like conversion tables and calendars. This list has the usual acronyms, like ASAP and BRB, but here are some other ones that I really, really like:
  • AFAIC: as far as I am concerned
  • BHL8: be home late
  • CMIIW: correct me if I am wrong
  • HAND: have a nice day
  • LOL: lots of luck
  • PUKS: pick up kids
  • RINGL8: running late
  • RUCMNG: are you coming?
  • WUCIWUG: what you see is what you get
CMIIW, but these aren't really that common, right? But I guess WUCIWUG.

"I heard it from America's sweetheart, Ryan Seacrest"

The "Midnight Train to Georgia" musical number on "30 Rock" is freaking hilarious. While I was looking for it on Youtube, I found this happy memory from 2008...remember this? I know I do. Just one more awesome thing that Ryan Seacrest has helped contribute to the world!

Big Fat July Recap

REALLY FUN, AWESOME THINGS THAT HAPPENED LAST MONTH:

1. Family reunion! It was truly SO fun. I love my whole family so much:

2. Harry Potter midnight premiere! I give the movie an Okay. I wasn't overwhelmed with it...but I also wasn't really underwhelmed since it did have some sweet parts...so let's just say I was whelmed.

We did have amazing costumes: Luna, Mrs. Norris, and Ariana Dumbledore (mine was a stretch. But I did carry around my lamb Beanie Baby all night...get it? Goats? Yeah.):

3. Bear Lake with the London besties! I guess I could call this a family reunion, too. This weekend was AMAZING, and Sara was SO nice to let us call her cabin home for a few days:

(Bear Lake continued) I love^100 these girls:

4. Night Ranger/Foreigner/Journey concert! It was amazing. I had serious Moments during these songs:

  • "Sister Christian" (obviously)
  • "Hot Blooded"
  • "I Want to Know What Love Is"
  • "Separate Ways"
  • "Who's Crying Now"
  • "Stone in Love"
  • "Any Way You Want It."

Every song was great, but I was just feeling it during those. It was SO FUN!! Plus I got a totally bad-A tote bag

5. Alex's bachelorette party! We took the bride-to-be to Red Iguana for dinner, and then we went to the good ole Area 51 for some '80s dancing! I haven't been there in about two years, and I had forgotten how nuts it is. (Check out their website; it is HILARIOUS.)

The blushing bride:

Yeah...we looked amazing. I felt SO awesome in my outfit.

6. Alex and Jason's wedding! It was so beautiful! They looked beautiful! It was one of the happiest days EVER:

Well, that's my July 2011 experience in a nutshell. It was a really good month. Here's to hoping that August is almost as fun...
