In a post-graduate world, Fridays are especially sacred

Some of the best songs to listen to while you drive home from work on a Friday are:

  • "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen
  • "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins
  • "Working for the Weekend" by Loverboy (obvs)
  • "Livin on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi
  • "Dreams" by the Cranberries
Take it from me; blast these with the windows down, and you'll feel like your life is a movie. (In my case, it's a pretty freaking boring movie, but a movie nonetheless.)

Also, I forgot to blog a happy birthday to Tricia on Thursday! She is 15 now, and despite this, I love her a lot. Plus I'm pretty sure that she's the only member of my immediate family who occasionally reads this blog.

Here's a pic from 1998. She's the cute chunk in the baby backpack or whatever those things are called.

Happy birthday Patrish!

Remember how much fun celebrity yearbook photos are?

Drake hahahahahahaha

Angelina Jolie

Megan Fox, who apparently lost her charisma when they waxed away that unibrow

Rashida Jones

Chris Pine EWWWW!

Zac Efron, on whom I would've had a gigantic crush in middle school

Jon Hamm mmmmmmmm

Another one of Jon Hamm mmmmmmmmmmm

Pharrell

Ryan Reynolds

Shia LaBeouf

John Slattery aka Roger Sterling hahahaha

Okay, so remember how Ashton Kutcher is playing Steve Jobs in that new movie, and everyone is all up in arms about it? THIS IS STEVE JOBS' YEARBOOK PHOTO. At first I thought it was Ashton. Unprecedented!

Taylor Kitsch, how I love you

Emma Stone

And last but not least:

Zooey Deschanel

Pixar Pixar Pixar

RANK THE PIXARS

  1. Toy Story series (I cheated and lumped them all together. BIG DEAL)
  2. Finding Nemo
  3. Monsters Inc.
  4. The Incredibles
  5. Bug's Life
  6. Up
  7. Brave
  8. Cars
  9. Ratatouille
  10. Wall-E
I understand that everyone has very strong and very different opinions on Pixar movies, so there is a good chance you will disagree with me. Está bien. Which ones are your faves?

PS: Brave was really good! Yes, it is only number seven on my Pixar list, but it was funny, beautiful to look at, and had great music.

All in all, I liked it more than Despicable Me, and probably not as much as Megamind.

A Bitchin July

I always forget that in the summertime, my blog just becomes a series of lists. Whatever; this is my blog and I DO WHAT I WANT

Anyway, the next four or so weeks are going to be pretty epic--and I know I'm guilty of tossing that word around kind of recklessly, but seriously. I am about to have a bitchin July.
  1. This weekend, my sister Tricia is coming to Provo! I AM SO EXCITED!
  2. Next week is the 4th of July!
  3. THEN my mom and brother Austin are coming to Provo!
  4. THEN it's time for the Demi Lovato concert!
  5. THEN it's time for a road trip to the Ingrid Michaelson concert at Red Rocks! (with the One Club, plus our favorite guest speaker)
  6. THEN I'm going to Costa Rica for a week with Mom and Dad!
Wahoo!!

In other news, we've obviously been watching The Bachelorette faithfully. Arie is my number one, but Jef is really putting up a good fight in the number two spot. Must be that Mormon blood that he's still got running through his veins. :)

Also, I have been reading like crazy and loving it. I love public libraries!! And their extensive YA lit sections!! And the fact that my mom knows all the best books to recommend!!!

OH and I've become completely obsessed with Bad Machinery, a British web comic. It is hilarious and quirky and all about pre-teens solving mysteries so yeah it's great. The latest story starts here, if you want to know what weirdo/awesome things I like to do on the internet.

Abel Arnett is Jordyn's Baby of the Month

Today I discovered the newest member of the Will Arnett/Amy Poehler family, Abel Arnett; I am now obsessed with him.

That is all for now.
